Sin Is Nothing New

Sin Is Nothing New

There is nothing new about sin.  It began in the Garden east of Eden.  Its origin is revealed in Genesis chapter 3 when Eve and then Adam ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and has wrecked havoc with mankind ever since.   Sin is identified as rebellion against God. The New Testament let’s us know that it begins in our inner man, in our thoughts and meditations.

Though sin - rebellion against God / His Word / Commands is not new, the open, in your face, public display of it is new in our lifetimes, and especially in America.  We began as a moral people, fearing God and wanting to do what is right in His sight as a Nation.  Our system of law as based on God’s Word.  Our early national fathers were men who feared God and knew according to their writings that if this Nation was to prosper and remain, her leaders and peoples had to remain moral and upright in God’s sight.  They knew from world history that any Nation refuting Him and His Word could not be nor remain free.  They openly stated that our Liberties were from our Creator, and were to be guarded and maintained.  They knew freedom was not free and that unrighteous leaders brought corruption and then harshness of life for their citizens.

As a young man, I could not have imagined that men, women, children, businesses, government, and even some churches would ever openly promote that which is contrary to God  without shame nor guilt.  Sexual sins seem to be a type of “norm”,  children apart from marriage,
entitlement mentalities, lawlessness and rioting, Government leaders making decisions in the middle of the night apart from any scrutiny of even many of their own peers, and much more goes without public outcry.  Open defiance of Christ and His values, including removing any public awareness of His Word in any way possible.  Each week, it seems to be worse.

When will we, those who are fully aware of these changes in our culture stand up and speak up?  When will we recognize that unless we who know truth do something different than we have been, it will only be harder for our succeeding generations?   When will we muster the courage to be as open about what is right as those who promote what is not right?  If we think others are going to do it for us, we will suffer.  Perhaps several / many are waiting for you to start speaking up in your spheres of influence.

Let us see that the Apostle Paul confronted Roman Government as a Roman citizen and not in the name of his church, though he did present Christ and forgiveness of sins to the King.  Should we not arise first as citizens, and the more-so as those who know Christ and choose to live morally and uprightly as much as be possible?

Should we not say loudly to our leaders “enough is enough”? Should we be taxed into poverty to support unjust laws and decisions by unjust leaders?  Should we bow down to scores of rules that are contrary to being a free people?  Should we support and pay perpetually for those who refuse look for gainful employment or simply “game the system” feeling they are entitled to a free ride so to speak?   Can we not see that the “war on poverty” can never be won by entitlements and Government interference of the freedoms espoused by our Founders? Can we see that morality and goodness to mankind does not come by the rules of man, but rather by the Ways of God.

Perhaps we need to heed the words of the believers in the book of Acts and pray that “God would grant us boldness to speak His Word so that signs and wonders could be done the hand of the Holy Child, Jesus”  I believe it is past time to openly and boldly inform multitudes that apart from repenting of sins, turning from our wicked ways and seeking the face of God, our Nation will not be healed.  That our own history and more shows clearly that a Nation who honors God the Creator, who sent His Son as Redeemer is a Nation whose people rejoice and live in freedom.

Certainly sin is not new, nor will it be entirely eradicated among men until Christ Himself returns to the earth, we must cease to ignore and even promote it.  Our compromise with those issues contrary to God’s Word have cost us dearly and brought only temporal appeasement to lives. Many do and many will scoff at the Truth that makes men free, but I have tasted and seen that His Word is true and that He is a good God and Heavenly Father. Look into His Word today and decide that though sin has been around for a long time, time has proven it to be destructive in every way.  See while you are looking, that receiving the one who paid for our sin with His own Blood and then choosing to honor Him with your life will bring blessings beyond natural belief. May you find His Grace to be more than sufficient for you, His Mercy new every day, and become able to join in overcoming that which is destroying our Nation (at least trying to) and the lives of those who love freedom

In about a month, we will celebrate July 4th, the day of Declaration of Independence from bondage.  Look and see that it was a real battle to win the freedoms which enabled America to become a “light on the hill” of humanity and give hope to millions trapped in the bondage of sinful leaders and rules.  Then, I encourage you to choose to join in the battle to maintain those freedoms with the courage, morals and values of our National forefathers.  God bless you and yours in Jesus name.

A Biblical Worldview

A Biblical Worldview

A Ministry we support is holding a conference this weekend concerning instruction on “A Biblical Worldview”.   Such an important subject.  How we look at the world we live in determines how we see what is happening.  I’ve been meditating on the title for several days.   Do you see, for instance that so many of our Religious Freedoms as Americans are being declared null and void?   Do you see that much of what is transpiring here and abroad is Anti-Christian?   Have you noticed that many Churches are changing their doctrines / views to anti-Biblical stances? It is through that Biblical Worldview that we can see what is causing so much despair for so many on this earth.

The Apostle Paul told us in the 2nd Thessalonians “the day of the Lord” would not come unless the apostasy (aka falling away) comes first.  Falling away from what?  Obviously, from Truth.  Jesus said “Thy Word O God is truth”, so we can say that  a falling away from Biblical Truth is a sign of Biblically foretold times  We live in that time.   As a Nation, we have fallen away from the principles on which our Nation was founded.  We have bought the lie that men have espoused concerning the separation of church and state to the point that we are making laws against our 1st Amendment which states in part “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech……”

In Indiana recently, leaders caved in to anti-Biblical truth by making it law that one must violate his / her Bible-based faith to accommodate an event that celebrates what Scripture refers to as sin, even an abomination in God’s sight. In other places, it concerns florists, bakers and other businesses. Later this month, our U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments about changing the entire meaning of marriage as it has stood since the Book of Genesis. Millions of dollars and vast amounts of time are being spent to defend or destroy family as our God intended.  Where will this onslaught against our Christian, Biblical values stop?  Truthfully, it won’t until we who call ourselves Christians draw the proverbial line in the sand and stand in Truth.  To stand in Truth, we must live in Truth honoring the Spirit of Truth that lives in us.  We, who represent Christ on this earth will need to listen in our hearts to the Word of God, turn where necessary from our own wicked ways, and sincerely repent as we seek His face so that healing can come to our land. Then, our stand will include the Arm of the Lord - not just our fleshly desires.

We cannot continue to violate Biblical principles and expect anything except the judgment we are bringing upon ourselves.  Decisions that unlimitedly lead to troubles we cannot handle - even as a Nation.  As a Nation, we kill / abort our babies without remorse - the shedding of innocent blood. We break covenant after covenant - marriages end in divorce with “no fault”??? Leaders lay their hands on a Bible and take an oath to honor the Constitution of the United States and within days are voting contrary to what it says.  Almost anything has preference to God in far to many lives - Idolatry is what that is called in Scripture.  Sexual immorality is rampant, even exploiting young children.  Scripture says those four things alone can cause a land to vomit out it’s inhabitants.  In history, that has happened by being overrun by enemies, by famine,  other natural disasters or financial collapse.

That “day of the Lord” spoken of earlier according to Paul would include the revealing of “the man of lawlessness, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God displaying himself as being God”  That person is commonly called “the Anti-Christ”, the one who will cause havoc and misery such as the world has never before seen.  Scripture calls that season “The Great Tribulation”.   In that area of Scripture, Paul clearly tells us that a Church alive to God, honoring God and standing in His Truth is holding back that event.  While their are things of the Lord I would love to hasten, this Great Tribulation is not one of them because even personally, their are so many I care about that will (and even, already are) fall for the deception of that season, sealing their fate forever by proverbially selling their souls for a bowl of porridge as Esau did.

Christians everywhere, it is time to know and understand what a Biblical Worldview is and stand up as one who insists on living his / her life accordingly.  If others choose not to, that is a decision you nor I cannot make for them.  However, I do not want them forcing their decisions against the God of Creation upon me or my family.  I love my God. I give thanks for His Redeeming Blood. I receive of His Mercy and Grace everyday.  I want to study His Word so I can be a workman that needs not be ashamed before Him.. As Christ said of Himself “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except by Me”. Contrary to much popular opinion, a Biblical Worldview clearly shows their is but one way through one Redeemer to live Eternally with our Creator.  I choose to honor Him with all my heart. I’m inviting you to know Him, His ways and do the same.
