God With Us
“Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means “God With Us”” - Matthew 1:23. Isaiah had prophesied in chapter 9:6 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”
Various names concerning God are given in Scripture, each of which is descriptive of who He is or, we could say, reveal His Nature - more about that in a moment. The 1st Adam was a manifestation of God on earth in human flesh - made in the image and likeness of God Himself. The 2nd Adam - Christ- was / is the only begotten Son of God - a partaker of flesh and bone. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ - the Son of God / son of man. Hebrews chapter one tells us that Christ was the express (exact) image of God. John chapter one tells us Christ was the Word of God made flesh - He who was God, and was with God in the beginning.
From above, concerning God’s Name(s). Elohiym (LORD) is the God of Majesty, and Jehovah-Shaamaah means “the Lord is there”. Together, The Majestic God was always there for His people. Now, in the New Testament, Immanuel - God WITH us.
Experience revealed to the Old Testament people of God that He was indeed there with them. Psalm 46:7 “The LORD of hosts is with us;--”; Isaiah 8:10 “---for God is with us”; Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear, for I am with you---”, and many more verses state the same truth.
New Testament Saints knew that truth; Acts 7:9 “---Yet, God was with us”. Paul wrote in Romans 15:33 “Now, the peace of God be with you all” In Titus 2, he wrote, “for the Grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age” - Verses 11 - 12, and in verse 14 “who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds”. 1 Corinthians 1:9 “God ----called you into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ --”. Colossians 3:3 “---your life is hidden with Christ in God”.
God, is still the Majestic God who is always there, but now, as we believe on Jesus Christ, He is with us, actually, Christ is in us according to the Word of God. He is with us to instruct us to live life to the fullest, with God. Even our spirit bears witness with His Spirit that we are the children of God. On both sides of the Cross, mankind experienced a presence of God, either as being there, or being with us. Have you ever sat with group and afterwards said of someone “he/she was there, but not really with us”? If so, you get the drift of what I’m talking about. God is all around, but He wants to be “with you”, and is through our faith.
Christmas is about remembering that God so loved the world that whomsoever would believe on Him would receive eternal life. Christ Himself told us that He is the Way, the Truth, the Life, and that no man comes to the Father except by Him. Make it a point in this season to remember the Love of God towards mankind in sending Christ to be our Redeemer and allow us to live our lives “With Him”. Merry Christmas.

As Through A Veil
We've just installed some new windows in our home. The originals were 33 or so years old. They were double pane windows and many had lost their seal and were clouded from moisture between the panes.
This morning I was looking out our upstairs bedroom window and admiring the great colors on the trees in our yard. I had said to Delbra that I really loved the new windows because they were so clear and everything looks more beautiful through them. We do have a lovely back yard - a stream leading into a lake and woods sets behind us, so very pastoral scene in a sense. As I was looking, 2 Corinthians 3 came strongly to my mind. The last two verses are as follows; 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
I realized in a moment that a type of veil (the cloudiness between the panes) had been removed, and that exactly the same yard I've looked at for 25 years looked entirely different. I was looking at the same grass, trees and stream, but the (veil) had been removed. At that moment I knew that as we behold the Lord continually, we can see what perhaps we've looked at many a time with a completely new perspective. Clearer, sharper, brighter and displaying a beauty not noticed before.
Let's decide to do our part to remove the veils we have created / formed over the years and allow the Lord of all Glory to reveal Himself in brand new way. The preceding verses say that it is the hardness of ones heart that is the veil. Ask the Lord to reveal any hardness in your heart today. Make sure you are not carrying some un-forgiveness or bitterness hidden away over a period of time. Apply the Blood of Redemption afresh to your being and see if some old cloudiness (veil) disappears and you see even your own life and circumstances in a brand new light.
If God is for you, who / what can be against you? By the way, He is always for you.

As A Citizen, Pursue Truth
As a youngster, like most, I said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag every school day morning. I suspect most of you remember the last part which says “One Nation, under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all”. I have been pondering that section, looking at the meanings of the words. I have noticed that much is happening in our great Nation that is contrary to those few words.
Are we “One Nation”, or are we a compilation of many cultures? It appears to me that we are increasingly separated by various cultural differences. Communities are ethnically divided. Some towns / cities are fully made up of and adhere to the wishes of certain minorities. International law is frequently referred to by our courts. Official U.S. documents even of everyday use are printed in many languages. Phone answering machines respond in two or more languages when called. Are we really “One Nation”?
Are we really operating “under God” as is implied? Increasingly legal cases are being won by those who are against anything of God, particularly prayer, scripture plaques, references to Christ, even saying the word “God” at a Military Funeral and more. The “God” referred to in our Pledge is the God of creation, the Father of our Redeemer Jesus Christ, and the releaser of Holy Spirit who reveals the Father and the Son. That “God” is not some man made idol; nor are all “gods” referred to by religious persons The One True God who is creator of heaven and earth. We continually violate His commands. We honor other gods before Him; we place idols (other gods) before Him- even worship them openly; His name is taken in vain regularly - even on public airways; the sabbath day is certainly not Holy to most; fathers and mothers are rarely honored and true parenthood as defined Scripturally is blasphemed and ridiculed; we do murder (abortion) and call it a choice; adulteries are committed regularly in every sector of life; thievery is common - even our identities are now stolen; blatant lies are accepted as truth; and covetousness certainly abounds. All of the above seem acceptable and participated in by far too many of our local, State and National leaders - in any field of endeavor, including the Church.
Are we “indivisible” or are we divided? Scripture says “a house divided shall not stand”. If we were as “One Nation under God”, we would not be divided as we are in so many arenas. The “Occupy” revolution taking place across our land is a display of divisiveness as a result of covetousness and more. Our political and often religious leaders seem to speak divisiveness regularly as one group is pitted against the other in jealousy and envy - even hatred revealed. Have we stood as “indivisible”? I think not.
Is “justice” equal for all? Justice is supposed to be blind, that is all treated the same. Laws are written that exclude certain sectors or persons of society from the same judgment as another. Examples abound - is treatment the same for one condemning Christianity as one condemning Islam? Is treatment the same for one espousing traditional marriage as one wanting same-sex marriage? Scores of examples of laws written and upheld highly favor one group over another.
Will the truth of “a Nation divided shall not stand” happen in America? Can we, created man, stand apart from our Creator and over rule His law? Certainly not! President John Adams is quoted saying “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the Government of any other”.
What shall we conclude. Can we stand against God and against the intent of our Constitution as written by our Founding Fathers? I think not. It is time for every person calling themselves Americans and Christians to arise and stand for truth once again. Educate yourself, see the history of those attempting to violate the laws of Almighty God as individuals and especially as Nations. Study our National Pledge of Allegiance through the eyes of Biblical Truth. Conclude that you will be one whom God and America can count on to be what you were intended to be, as a citizen of Heaven and a citizen of America. God bless you as you pursue Truth.

Bless The Lord
Psalms 103 begins with “ Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.”
Blessing the Lord is a good thing to do - today and every day. His mercies are new every morning according the His Word. This is the day He has made, and we are to rejoice and be glad in it wrote the Apostle Paul. Psalms 91 tells us that when we say of the Lord that He is our Strong Tower and more, He is. He is good, and no evil comes from Him.
As we “Bless the Lord” we do remember His benefits - sins forgiven, diseases healed, and then we come to He “who redeems your life from the pit”. “Pit” is also translated destruction. That is the line I’m impressed to spend a few moments on today. In the past few days, we have had earthquakes west and east of us here in Illinois. We have prediction of a fierce storm hitting the east coast in the next few days as I write this. We just returned from traveling west and saw the devastation that remains from the Missouri River flooding in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. I have relationship with persons in the Joplin, MO. area where they were hit with a tornado recently, and are working feverishly to restore daily life.
We seem to hear about these destructive things as they happen, and occasionally for a few days after, but seldom do we hear much about the ongoing struggles. The destructive things are all around us, not only storms or floods, but such things as divorces, sicknesses, financial issues and much more. In the midst or our destructive things - whatever they are, let us remember to “Bless the Lord” for He is the one who will deliver us from them. He is the one who never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is always at work willing and working His good pleasure in us. The work proceeds well when we remember to Bless Him in the midst of our daily lives - no matter what is happening on a particular day.
Scripture tell us we have been redeemed with the precious Blood of Jesus. The price of sin is fully paid and is available to all who will believe it and receive of it. The wages of sin are death - destruction, confusion, chaos and more are a part of that wage. Yet, our Creator made a way through Christ to arise in the midst of great troubles and show forth His greatness.
His Word also informs us that troublesome, even perilous times will be part of life on earth before Christ comes again. Earthquakes, selfishness, hatred and much more are described as part of these days. Even the earth itself groans waiting for full redemption from the fall of man that originated in Adam - the first one. The last one - Christ brought deliverance from everlasting death and destruction.
As stated above, we hear of major destructive events often, but do we realize that it often becomes a long and tedious struggle to be fully delivered from that destruction? Do we recognize that it is often more difficult in the weeks and months following destructive events than the initial shock was? Do we, who are of Christ, believe that He really will deliver us from whatever pit we seem to be in today, or will be in tomorrow?
May I suggest that the time to “Bless the Lord” is today. Today is the day of Salvation according to Scripture. Today is the day to remember all of His benefits. If I remember His benefits each and every day, whenever a destructive thing enters my life, I have hope. Hope of Christ delivering me from this pit. The hope provided through His promises becomes a place for His faith to arise and work effectually in my life.
These perilous times are and will be a part of life in this season, yet as we Bless the Lord, we remember His goodness and know that we will be delivered from the pit. His promise is “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. I have found that Word to be true. How about you? Will you Bless the Lord today and every day? When you do, you to will discover that He really does deliver us from destructive pits and we find peace for our souls day in and day out.
Take a look at those verses in Psalms 103 on a regular basis and allow the truth contained therein to become a living part of your life. They are some of the Words in Scripture that bring Life to us and show us His path. I speak His blessings on each of you today in Jesus name. Fear no evil, stand strong in the face of every temptation that would lead you away from His path. Bless the Lord today.

Our Stand
A few days back, our President basically cursed Israel - ignorantly or intentionally - I do not know. Scripture tells us that those who curse Israel will be cursed and those who bless Israel will be blessed. I told my wife the next day to watch and see where troubles unexpected would arise in or against America. Within days, the series of strong storms raged across the mid-west killing many and destroying much property. these storms were primarily across States that have taken strong stands for righteousness in recent months and years . I believe that our Presidents "curse of Israel" allowed the war in the heavenlies to momentarily shift towards darkness, resulting in destructive events against our Nation in an "anti-Christ" fashion.
We do pray for our President as Scripture mandates, however in this case, I declare that as for me and my household, we renounce his stance, and declare that we bless Israel today and always. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem - the Capitol of Israel. We stand declaring that Israel shall stand against any and all enemies that wish to destroy her in agreement with our God. We desire His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Over our property - home and church, we declare Jesus Christ is Lord and from our properties, we release blessings towards Israel by the Blood of the Lamb - we overcome through it and via our testimony because we love Him more than our own lives.
Today, June 1st our President has released his proclamation declaring June "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride month. Some exerts are as follows:
" During LGBT Pride Month, we commemorate the events of June 1969 and commit to achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans..... LGBT Americans have made, and continue to make, great and lasting contributions that continue to strengthen the fabric of American society...... I am proud to be the first President to appoint openly LGBT candidates to Senate-confirmed positions in the first 100 days of an Administration. These individuals embody the best qualities we seek in public servants, and across my Administration -- in both the White House and the Federal agencies --"
Again, as for me and my household, we renounce this ungodly stance and release our shield of faith over all that is ours and declare our lives and properties to be righteous by the Blood of Christ, and that we refuse to be given over to a reprobate mind as is the lot of those denying the Creator and His ways. we are NOT PROUD of any sin in our Nation! I don't doubt that many persons of various beliefs and lifestyles have made some contributions to America, but NO SIN can strengthen the fabric of our society! And, if this lifestyle embodies the best qualities our President seeks, we face continuing difficulties as a Nation.
Lord, have mercy on us. We deserve judgment, but we cry out for mercy today. Many of us choose to continually turn towards You to seek Your face and honor you with our lives through Christ who lives in us. We desire our Nation to be healed of it's backsliding ways. We are sorry for our years of silence and inactivity concerning watching and acting accordingly for righteousness. We are sorry we have allowed truth to fall in the streets and thereby kept righteousness standing afar off and justice held back. Revive us, even as we stir ourselves towards You Lord. Bless those who stand up in You Lord and cover themselves and all that is theirs through the precious Blood of Christ and refuse to be partakers of, or in agreement with the sin(s) of our Nation and too many of those charged with leading us in righteousness.
We bless You today Lord with all our heart and all that is within us. Our stand is with You Lord, even against all the schemes of evil. We put on Christ today, afresh and anew.

Memorial Day
Monday, May 30, 2011 is Memorial / Decoration Day in our land. A day to remember those who gave their lives for our freedoms. First held in 1905 to remember both Union and Confederates that gave their lives during the Civil Way of the 1860's. From then till now, wreaths have been laid and prayers of thanksgiving in remembrance of our fallen soldiers at Arlington Cemetery each year in Washington D.C. as well as at locations all around the Nation.
I am so grateful for these men and women who fought for what they believed, or at least agreed with for the most part.
I was thinking last night about Gods' Word stating there is a time war and a time for peace. I remembered in His Word the numbers of times people gave their lives to defend their families and properties from invaders as well as the battles in conquering the promised land after entering it. I remembered that when Israel obeyed the Lord victory was much easier - many times with no casualties at all. Then other times when not in the Lord's timing or having disobeyed Him, defeat was harsh. I have seen from the Word of God that in war, there is to be victory and the spoils go to the victor. The ultimate victory was won by Christ for us and we (the spoils) are eligible to become a part of His victory.
Then, I was thinking of the victories that will be mentioned at many events on Monday. Events from the two great world wars where many gave their lives, but victory came because of them, and freedoms were won for many Nations including our own. I remember reading of or listening to recordings of some of the "end of the war" speeches and signings. We had won the war! Celebrations were held in many places in spite of so many losing their lives, but the victory being won was at least some compensation for the losses suffered.
Then, in the 1950's our Government didn't want to call the event in Korea a "war", and instead called it a conflict. Since then, it appears to me that the wars our Nation has been involved in have all been political in nature with very little emphasis on victory! In lieu of gaining the spoils of the wars / conflicts, we turn around and rebuild the Nations we were attempting to defeat. So, not only have we lost lives of brave men and women, but now we pay exceedingly high amounts to rebuild, and often in that process U.S. citizens lose their lives.
Now, it seems that even if so called enemy lives are lost, our soldiers face arrest or prosecution of some type. This is not right! "If" we are at war, we should fight to win. I understand that in many areas sports events involving young people have no scores so no one is labeled a winner or a loser. Some schools no longer grade so as not to appear as if someone has excelled or not.
This is not God's way. Christ will return one day with a vesture on which is written "King of kings, and Lord of lord's". He will defeat the enemies of Himself with a "word" which will cause blood to run as deep as a horses bridle in the valley of Megido according to Scripture. The clear victory He won in the spirit world will be made manifest in this natural world! Christ made a triumphant show of the enemies of God and declared victory by saying He had the keys of hell and death. A result of that victory allowed Him to declare that "all authority in Heaven and on earth had been granted unto Him". He was victorious at the Cross of Calvary. He won the battle against death by shedding His own blood and presenting it at the Altar of the Most High. In Him and through Him, we are more than conquers!
So, for this Memorial Day, I want to say to the Lord and to whosoever can receive it - I repent of the mess we have made in our Nation by shedding so much innocent blood without fighting for a complete and total victory. We have left the ungodly in charge after we have declared we were fighting for the cause of freedom. I am sorry for those who fought and lost their friends on the battle field and came home without any real sense of victory, nor were welcomed as the heroes they were / are. I'm sorry Lord that we have given lives for the political or monetary gain of a few and robbed our warriors of the dignity of victory in so many cases. Thank You for washing us and our land by the Blood of our Redeemer.
Now Lord, through that precious Blood, I release life and peace to all who have lost loved ones fighting for our Nation in any manner. I declare Your grace is sufficient for all who mourn, and that You O Lord, will give them Your joy in place of mourning. We, as a Nation and as individuals are remembering them this weekend. We desire to stand as one Nation under You O Lord, making sure there is real liberty and real justice for all. We recognize that according to Your Word, because Truth (Your Word) has fallen in the streets, righteousness stands afar off and justice is held back. No longer will we shrink back, but rather, by the surpassing greatness of Your power working within us, we will arise and allow Your Light to shine out of our lives. As in the book of Acts, we ask for boldness to speak Your Word O Lord, so that signs and wonders can be done by the hand of the Holy One - Christ Jesus.
Thank You once again Lord for those who have gone before us and giving their lives for our Nation. Bless their families who have struggled, but pressed on without them. We remember them and give honor to them today in Jesus name. May Your grace be experienced at every event in which men and women who gave their lives are being remembered this weekend.
By Faith, We Understand
Hebrews 11:3 states “By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible”. Three verses later we read “And without faith it is impossible to please Him--”. Romans 10:17 says “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (All quotes from NASB).
Do we understand, really understand, “by faith”? Faith, a word that can be defined as meaning we believe God above all else, and rely on Him and the truth of His Word to guide us, provide and protect us. The Apostle Paul informed the church at Corinth that the things of God are spiritually discerned, not figured out in our natural brains. God, who cannot lie has given us, His people, the keys of His Kingdom so that the gates of Hades will not prevail against the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Jesus, the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world is the same yesterday, today and forever. He changes not!
In creation, God made man in His image and likeness and charged man to “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule---” (Genesis 1:26 NASB). “Be” was His directive. Be, and then do. Religion says we must “do” so we can “become”
By faith, I understand that as His children and by the shed blood of His Son we are to be like Him. After all, we are made in His image and His likeness. By faith, I understand that it is time for the church, the Body of Christ, to arise from its slumber and allow the light of His glory to shine into the darkness of this present age. By faith, I understand that we can awaken to His might which is resident in us who believe Him. By faith, I understand we are made to rule, to guard, to tend and to cause to be fruitful all that is in our spheres of influence.
With that said, let us realize that the time is upon us, the believers in Christ, to speak out concerning the rapid decline of God-honoring values in our land and the rapid rise of the anti-Christ agenda . We, the believers, have been given authority in Christ to speak the Word of the Lord concerning what is right and what is not right in our land. We should have spoken sooner, louder and stronger about abortion, sexual perversion, removal of prayer and most public references to God in our nation and culture. But, it is not too late! God is stirring His people to righteousness. We must arise in Him and speak out in every arena of our culture.
Who will understand by faith, that we cannot indoctrinate our children with one ungodly thing after another and expect them to be righteous leaders in our future? Who will understand by faith, that we cannot condone lifestyles strictly forbidden in the Word of God and call it progress concerning family life? Who will understand by faith, that we cannot look the other way concerning corruption, lies and manipulation of our Constitutional values, which were given by our forefathers to honor the God of all creation? Who will understand by faith, that unimaginable debt - growing by billions and now trillions - is not going to prosper this Nation?
If we understand these things by faith, then what will each of us do about it? Every believer has authority on this earth through faith to be all that our God created you to be - one who rules, tends and guards the way of the Lord. Speak out, loudly when necessary. As citizens of this Nation, we have the responsibility to see to it that righteousness abounds. If not, justice is held back and the people will mourn rather that rejoice as God intends. Speak to your family. Speak to your neighbors. Speak to your educators. Speak to your government officials - local, state and national. Speak to the rulers of darkness, using the Word of God as mighty sword. Speak up now!
By faith, we understand that just as the world was originally prepared by the Word of God, so also we, as the Body of Christ by our speaking on earth, are preparing the world ahead of us. Will we be pleased with what we create?

It Is Finished
It is finished. Perhaps many of us read or at least heard these words of Christ as He hung upon the Cross at Calvary during Resurrection week services. When He had spoken those words, He gave up His life. He had spoken to the Father in the prayer at the Garden of Gethsemane that He had “accomplished the work” which had been assigned to Him.
Yet, after dying, He arose and ascended into Heaven where He ever lives to make intercession for us, He will return again, He will turn all things over to the Father at some point in the future, all according to Scripture. So, not everything was finished - just that portion of His assignment. The Book of Revelation says there will come a time that “the mystery of God is finished” and a time when “the wrath of God is finished”. Meaning all that there is to have revealed of God will have been revealed. The Apostle Paul said in Romans to “behold the goodness and severity” of our God.
Jesus, before ascending into Heaven told His followers to “go and make disciples of all Nations”, literally, teaching them the disciplines of Righteousness before our God. Likewise, Paul said his assignment was to “reveal the mysteries of God”. He also told Timothy that he had “fought the good fight of faith and finished the course”.
The issue for us becomes, will I / we finish our course? Will we live in such manner as to display, impart and instruct on the disciplines of Godly living? Will I / we allow the renewing of our minds and thus the transformation of our lives spoken of in Romans chapter twelve? Will I / we put on the new man which is renewed in Righteousness? How about laying aside the works of the flesh? Will I / we receive of His peace and live accordingly? Can I / we see that even Creation itself is groaning as it awaits the maturity of us as Sons of God? I'm remembering about three years ago, I was part of team praying along the Mississippi River from Venice, LA to it's origin in Minnesota. Having been on the road for nine days, we arrived at Lake Itasca in Minnesota, very tired, but elated to be there, and looking forward to heading home the next day. . We realized through locals that a stream runs into that lake from Canada, and it happened to have water when we were there. We sensed the Lord saying we needed to follow that stream to the northern border of Minnesota. Because of time of day and other logistics, it was going to add another full day to our trip. We went for it and that last evening at a service only a stones throw from the Canadian border the Lord spoke through a brother from that area (found out later that he did not know we had not originally planned on coming all the way to the border) that God was pleased that the team had "finished the course". In that Spirit inspired Word, we heard and sensed the Lord's disappointment at the many who had started an assignment from Him, but didn't fully complete it. We were impressed that He always finishes what He begins, and that many loose ends remain on earth because so often man in his own humanity decides when the assignment is finished in lieu of getting the release of the Lord on when it is finished. It was a defining moment in the lives of most of the team. We made the trip home the next day, even with the added 150 miles and arrived home very late, physically tired, but so refreshed and energized in our inner man that many of us on the team did a full days work the very next day. Obedience to the Lord and accomplishing His assignment always makes way for an impartation of His life into ours.
Jesus said to seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and to pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as in Heaven. Will we, the body of Christ finish the task in our generation of revealing the knowledge of His Glory until it covers the earth like the waters cover the sea? Will we be a part of the generation that becomes glorious, without spot or wrinkle? If not, why not? What is stopping us besides our unbelief or lack of discipline to adhere to His Word? He has made us able to finish the task assigned, individually and as a body of believers.
Decide today to arise from any slumber and show forth His Glory. Be salt and light wherever you are. Minister / release His Life to those who cross your path through the direction and power of Holy Spirit who lives in you. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and in all your ways, acknowledge Him, so that each of us can say of our assignment “it is finished”.

A Critical Hour
Paul writes in Romans 13 concerning submission to governing authorities put in place to be ministers of God to us for good. He speaks encouragement concerning obeying the law. Paul wrote in 2nd Timothy 3:1 “But understand this, that in the last days will come perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear]”. Christ Himself addressed lawlessness and deception abounding in the latter days.
The events happening in this world and our own Nation need to be addressed by righteous men and women who are able to judge them and put them in proper perspective according to the Word of God. I believe Romans 13:11, 12 (Amplified Bible) are worth looking at. “Besides this you know what [ a critical ] hour this is, how it is high time now for you to wake up out of your sleep (rouse to reality). For salvation (final deliverance) is nearer to us now than when we first believed in and relied on Christ. The night is far gone and the day is almost here. Let us then drop (fling away) the works and deeds of darkness and put on the (full) armor of light”,
In short, wake up and see what is happening around you in our Nation and across the world. If you think it doesn’t concern you, you have fallen into deception and it is time to arise in the Light of Christ. When Government leaders openly defy the law - i.e. legislators fleeing their elected positions and functions, community leaders lying about why they are not at work, and others refusing to obey reasonable police instructions concerning assembling, we are in perilous times. When a leader can decide on his own that duly enacted laws, such as the Defense of Marriage Act, can be declared unconstitutional, and our Government can ignore Court orders - even Contempt of Court, we are in perilous times. When members of Legislatures are duly elected by a fair margin of voters and are then railed against for doing what they campaigned to do, we are in perilous times. Should I go on, or are you seeing it?
If we, the Church, do not stand up against these ungodly and unlawful actions, who will? What is the outcome if lawlessness wins out? Do you think we will escape the rage waiting to unleash itself against anything that is of God? Are you joining together with others of like precious faith and contending for righteousness in prayer? Are you maintaining a confession of faith that allows the provision and protection of God to be manifest in your life? The earth itself is groaning and waiting for the manifestation of mature children of God. Let us be living stones and let our voices be heard in the heavens, both in worship and in prayers of intercession. Let us arise in our spheres of influence - no matter how small or large - and speak out for what is right in the sight of God. Let us not lose courage in doing good. We will see the greatness of our God if we faint not.
We must see that God is our true source and has promised to bless what we put our hands to. Government is not, nor can it ever be, a true source for our lives as it has nothing of its own. It only has what it can take from others. God, however, is the creator of all things and all life finds its source in Him. So, as we respond to His commands, doing what He has placed in front of us and we respond accordingly, by seeking Him and His righteousness first, all the things we have need of are added unto us according to Matthew 6:33. I’m praying for His Kingdom to more fully manifest and His will to be increasingly done on earth as it is in Heaven - how about you? According to Isaiah 9, the real government of mankind is on His shoulders, and of the increase of His government and of His peace there shall be no end. Come Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself increasingly in our lives and heal our land. We need You. We need Your presence manifested now. We stand in You and for You. Amen.

A Time To Stand Strong
Are these the perilous times the Apostle Paul wrote of to Timothy? Are these the times that try men's souls? Are these the latter days spoken of by Christ Himself in Scripture? Is the fact that we have had five times the average number of tornado's in America this month a sign of the times? Are the issues of storms, drought, floods, fires and earthquakes the result of the hand of God being pulled back because as a Nation we have denied God and His Truth for so long?
Perhaps we could answer "yes" to each these questions and give Scriptural references for each. Perhaps we could say "maybe" and try to reason it out in our heads. Or, perhaps we could say "no" and deny that it is anything more than a current pattern based on jet streams or man-made problems. I'm sure one could find those who would agree on any of the three answers posed above.
But, what is my heart, the place where Holy Spirit dwells telling me? It seems to me that far too many are hiding their heads in the sand and pretending everything is alright, and is going to be alright if we just leave everything alone. I say we have left it alone for far too long! Someone once said "anything left to itself goes to the devil". It appears to me that much of America's former blessings have waned and in their place curses (Biblical absence blessings) because warnings of the few actually watching went unheeded. We, the Body of Christ, remained to silent when Bibles, prayers and Biblical statements were removed from our Schools and public places. We were silent for the most part when abortion was declared law, unconstitutionally by the Court. On we could go, but you get the picture I'm sure.
What shall we then do? The Apostle Paul said that we evil rears up, it is time to stand. It is time we who believe in God and in the righteous foundation of this great Nation take a stand. Stand up and let truth arise in the streets - the spheres where we have influence. That would include our families, our neighborhoods, our places of work, recreation and business. We must stand strong with the Truth of God and the truth of our Founding Fathers in our Constitution which is based upon the principles of Scripture. Let the voice of the Lord resound. Let Truth arise. Stand, stand strong in the power of His Might. Stand with righteous men and women. Stand for righteous justice. We, the people of God must take our place in Him, on this earth and allow His Kingdom to manifest here as in Heaven.
