By Faith, We Understand

Hebrews 11:3 states “By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible”.   Three verses later we read “And without faith it is impossible to please Him--”.   Romans 10:17 says “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (All quotes from NASB).

Do we understand, really understand, “by faith”?   Faith, a word that can be defined as meaning we believe God above all else, and rely on Him and the truth of His Word to guide us, provide and protect us.   The Apostle Paul informed the church at Corinth that the things of God are spiritually discerned, not figured out in our natural brains.   God, who cannot lie has given us, His people, the keys of His Kingdom so that the gates of Hades will not prevail against the Revelation of Jesus Christ.   Jesus, the Lamb of God slain before the foundation of the world is the same yesterday, today and forever.  He changes not!

In creation, God made man in His image and likeness and charged man to “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule---” (Genesis 1:26 NASB).  “Be” was His directive.  Be, and then do.   Religion says we must “do” so we can “become”
By faith, I understand that as His children and by the shed blood of His Son we are to be like Him.  After all, we are made in His image and His likeness.  By faith, I understand that it is time for the church, the Body of Christ, to arise from its slumber and allow the light of His glory to shine into the darkness of this present age.  By faith, I understand that we can awaken to His might which is resident in us who believe Him. By faith, I understand we are made to rule, to guard, to tend and to cause to be fruitful all that is in our spheres of influence.

With that said, let us realize that the time is upon us, the believers in Christ, to speak out concerning the rapid decline of God-honoring values in our land and the rapid rise of the anti-Christ agenda .  We, the believers, have been given authority in Christ to speak the Word of the Lord concerning what is right and what is not right in our land. We  should have spoken sooner, louder and stronger about abortion, sexual perversion, removal of prayer and most public references to God in our nation and culture.  But, it is not too late!  God is stirring His people to righteousness.   We must arise in Him and speak out in every arena of our culture.

Who will understand by faith, that we cannot indoctrinate our children with one ungodly thing after another and expect them to be righteous leaders in our future?   Who will understand by faith, that we cannot condone lifestyles strictly forbidden in the Word of God and call it progress concerning family life?   Who will understand by faith, that we cannot look the other way concerning corruption, lies and manipulation of our Constitutional values, which were given by our forefathers to honor the God of all creation?  Who will understand by faith, that unimaginable debt - growing by billions and now trillions - is  not going to prosper this Nation?

If we understand these things by faith, then what will each of us do about it?   Every believer has authority on this earth through faith to be all that our God created you to be - one who rules, tends and guards the way of the Lord.  Speak out, loudly when necessary.  As citizens of this Nation, we have the responsibility to see to it that righteousness abounds.  If not, justice is held back and the people will mourn rather that rejoice as God intends.  Speak to your family.  Speak to your neighbors.  Speak to your educators.  Speak to your government officials - local, state and national.   Speak to the rulers of darkness, using the Word of God as mighty sword.  Speak up now!

By faith, we understand that just as the world was originally prepared by the Word of God, so also we, as the Body of Christ by our speaking on earth, are preparing the world ahead of us.  Will we be pleased with what we create?
